The short answer to how to make coins in FC 27: play Division Rivals for the weekly reward and the much fatter post-match payouts, sell the tradeable packs instead of opening them, and put spare coins into 83-86 rated fodder before promo Fridays. For the average player that combination earns more per hour than any “secret method” video. Trading on top of it works, but the 5% EA tax eats careless flips alive, so you will also find the tax math, a coins-per-hour table with its assumptions written out, and a timing plan for the Ultimate Scream and Black Friday windows.

The economy changed this year. EA’s FC 27 Launch Update pitch notes say FC 26 paid roughly 500 to 600 coins per match and that Rivals and Champions now pay “several times more”, with Squad Battles also up. A much bigger share of rewards is tradeable, too, and that changes which methods are worth your evening.

How coins actually enter your club in FC 27

Match rewards are now the base layer of FC 27 coin making. In FC 26 you played for packs and treated post-match coins as pocket change; this year the per-match payout is several times higher, Division 1 upgraded Rivals rewards include 95,000 coins plus a stack of tradeable gold packs, and objectives hand out more tradeable items than before. Every one of those packs is coins once you list what comes out.

The other side of that coin (sorry): everyone else got richer too. EA’s own FUT Developer Launch Update says coin balances were more than 50% higher than at the same point last year. More coins chasing the same cards means meta players cost more, fodder floors sit higher, and margins on simple flips get thinner because more people run them.

FC 27 coins come from five places:

  • Post-match coins in Rivals, Champions and Squad Battles.
  • Weekly Rivals and Champs rewards, which are coins plus tradeable packs.
  • Objectives and the Season Pass, which pay coins and tradeable items. Season 1 alone paid 30,000 and 15,000 coin rewards on the standard track, per FUT.GG’s season-pass page.
  • The Transfer Market: selling what you pack, plus trading.
  • Quick sell, which EA moved closer to old rare values. It is still the worst price for anything with a market.

FC 27 coin making: coins per hour by method

The honest answer to “which method makes the most” is that it depends on your skill, your starting balance and the week. So instead of fake precision, here is our estimate per method with the assumptions written out. None of this is EA data: EA publishes no per-match coin figure for FC 27 beyond “several times” FC 26’s 500-600, so the Rivals rows are our estimate from the FC 27 matches our team has played this season, last checked October 2026.

MethodOur estimate (coins per hour)AssumptionsStarting balance needed
Division Rivals (post-match coins only)~4,000-9,0003 matches an hour, low thousands per match, win rate around 50%None
Rivals incl. weekly reward (Div 1 upgraded)~20,000-30,000 amortized95,000 coins plus packs sold, 30 points in roughly 15 matches over 5 hoursA squad that holds Div 1
Squad Battles~3,000-7,000Up from FC 26 per EA, below Rivals; best for SP and objectivesNone
Selling reward packs (vs opening for your club)Varies, often 10-40% more value than quick sellingYou list every tradeable card above discardNone
SBC fodder investing (83-86)~5-15% per cycle, not per hourBought midweek, sold into a promo Friday or a big SBC drop50,000+
Mass bidding~5,000-20,000Active bidding on web/Companion App, 40-60 bids an hour, after reward drops20,000+
Filter flipping~3,000-15,000Two or three filters you know cold, quick relists20,000+

The weekly Rivals reward is the single best hour-for-hour earner for anyone who can hold Division 1, because 95,000 coins arrive on top of what you earned per match. Investing is measured per cycle because it takes almost no time, but the coins sit in cards for days.

Rivals and Champs: the reward floor

If you only do one thing, climb Rivals as high as your squad and hands allow, then sell the packs. Division 1 upgraded is 95,000 coins plus 4x 84+ Gold Players Packs, 5x 83+ Gold Players Packs, a 1 of 5 83+ pick, a Giant Gold Pack and a TOTW Player Pack, all tradeable according to EA. Opening those and listing the contents usually beats the coin line itself on a good week. We broke down every Rivals division’s weekly coins and the Champs Finals table separately, so I won’t repeat it here.

The point for coin making: every division you climb changes your weekly income more than any trading trick does. Wins are coins twice, once after the match and again on Thursday. So the most underrated coin method in FC 27 is just winning more, and that starts with the formations and custom tactics that win Rivals games.

The 5% EA tax math every trader needs

The tax is where most beginner flips die. EA takes 5% of every completed sale and the seller pays it. So to break even you need to sell for about 5.3% more than you paid, and FUT’s price steps (50 coins under 1,000, 100 up to 10,000, 250 up to 50,000, 500 up to 100,000, 1,000 above) round that up again. Here is the break-even point on real fodder prices from FUT.GG:

You bought atLowest sale that profitsYou receive after 5% taxProfit
700 (cheapest 83)750712+12
4,900 (cheapest 86)5,2004,940+40
12,000 (cheapest 88)12,75012,112+112
60,000 (cheapest 91)63,50060,325+325

Buying an 83 at 700 and selling at 750 makes you 12 coins. Selling at 800 makes 60. On cheap cards you need a two-step price rise to make a flip worth the transfer list slot, and the transfer list has a hard cap (100 slots in recent editions), so slots are a resource too. On expensive cards the percentage matters more than the steps, which is why serious traders flip in the 10,000-100,000 band, where one decent move pays real money.

SBC fodder investing around Ultimate Scream and Black Friday

Fodder investing is the best low-effort method in FC 27 if you time it to the promo calendar. Here is the cheapest-by-rating ladder from FUT.GG’s cheapest-by-rating page, read October 21, 2026 (the page does not specify platform, and these numbers move daily):

RatingCheapest player (FUT.GG)Price (coins)
83Mittelstädt700
84Sommer750
85Nmecha2,500
86Pau Cubarsí4,900
87Tah6,800
88Mapi León12,000
89Gabriel17,000
90Rodri32,250
91Haaland60,000

The interesting number is the jump from 84 (750) to 85 (2,500). That gap is where SBC demand bites hardest. When a big player SBC or a batch of upgrade SBCs drops, the cheapest 84s and 85s get cleared first and their price floors lift. When a pack-flooding event hits, everything below 86 sinks.

Ultimate Scream is expected on Friday October 23 at the usual 6pm UK slot. That date comes from Dexerto’s promo calendar and leakers; EA had not announced it when we checked. Black Friday, Thunderstruck in FC 26, is expected around November 27, also unannounced. The pattern we plan around:

WindowWhat fodder usually doesWhat we do
Midweek before a promoFlat or soft, reward packs hit the marketBuy 83-86 at the floor
Promo Friday, first hoursSpikes as new SBCs drop at 6pm UKSell into the spike, keep a few for your own SBCs
Thursday Rivals rewardsDips as thousands of packs openBuy again, especially 84s
Black Friday weekSupply floods from flash packs, floors dropSell before Wednesday, rebuy the dip

A real one from this season: a client’s account had about 40,000 coins sitting in 84-rated fodder bought on a Wednesday. Nobody touched it until the Friday promo drop, when the cheapest 84s ran out under a new player SBC and the lot cleared at a clean profit after tax. All they did was buy while everyone else was opening Rivals packs.

Mass bidding and filter flipping

Mass bidding still works in FC 27, but only on cards with real demand and only right after reward drops. The method: pick a card that sells steadily, bid well under its Buy Now price on dozens of listings ending soon, and relist the ones you win at the market price. Tradeable Rivals packs flood the market every Thursday, so that is the best bidding window of the week. Use the web or Companion App; the console menu is too slow for volume.

Filter flipping is the same idea with more specific searches: a league and position combo, a nation link for an SBC, a rarity with a thin market. Learn two or three filters cold, know their floor, and snipe anything listed under it. The tax table above tells you the minimum gap that makes a snipe worth taking. Check FUT.GG’s price ranges page before you commit, because every item has a minimum and maximum listing price and some cheap cards can’t be listed low enough to undercut.

If you would rather spend your evenings playing than refreshing the transfer market, our FC 27 coins service is the shortcut: you pick the amount and skip the bidding sessions entirely. Most people who use it want a promo card on release day rather than three weeks later.

Evolutions-driven price moves

Evolutions are the best predictable price spike in FC 27, because EA now releases fewer of them with tighter requirements. The Launch Update pitch notes say Evolutions arrive “at a lower frequency” with specific positional and attribute requirements. Fewer, narrower Evolutions means each one concentrates demand on a small pool of eligible cards. When an Evolution goes live, the cheapest eligible players can jump in minutes.

How to play it: when a new Evolution leaks or appears, filter for every eligible card, buy the cheapest few before the rush, and list them in the first hour. Then get out. Evolution spikes fade fast once players have done their one upgrade. FUT.GG’s momentum trends page shows these moves as they happen.

Daily objectives, the Season Pass and free value

The free stuff adds up, and in FC 27 more of it is tradeable. Daily and weekly objectives pay coins, packs and players. The Season Pass pays coins at set levels, and Season Points come in at 15 to 100 per match up to 850 a day, so playing a few matches daily maxes the pass faster than one long weekend session. Season 2 is expected to run from October 22 to December 3.

Two habits that save more coins than any trading trick:

  • Stop opening packs you paid coins for. A r/EASportsFC thread from mid-October has a player putting 100,000 coins into gold re-rolls and pulling no walkout in 60 packs. The top reply puts the 87+ odds near 3% a pack. Buy the player you want.
  • Check the price before every quick sell. Half the “discard” golds in your club are SBC fodder someone wants for 650-750 coins.

Where this advice falls short

This plan has real weak spots. First, trading is zero-sum against other players running the same methods, and with coin balances 50% higher than last year, more people have the capital to compete for the same margins. Every guide (this one included) pushes more people into 84 fodder before promo Fridays, which flattens the spike. Second, our coins-per-hour numbers are estimates from our own play and assume a decent win rate. A player who wins 35% of Rivals games earns a fraction of the Rivals rows. Third, fodder investing ties up your balance for days, and if EA drops a pack-flooding event instead of a big SBC, you sell at a loss or wait. And the market here is a snapshot: the FUT.GG prices were read on one day and will be different by the time you buy.

Last caveat: the best method for most players is still to get better at the game. Climbing a division is worth more weekly coins than most of the trading methods above.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to make coins in FC 27?

For most players, Division Rivals. EA says FC 27 pays several times FC 26’s 500-600 coins per match, and Division 1 upgraded rewards include 95,000 coins plus tradeable packs. Trading only overtakes it once you have a working balance to trade with.

How much is the EA tax in FC 27?

5% of every completed sale, paid by the seller. That means you need roughly a 5.3% markup just to break even, and more on cheap cards because of the price steps.

Is SBC fodder investing still worth it in FC 27?

Yes, if you time it. Buy 83-86 rated fodder midweek or after Thursday Rivals rewards, then sell into promo Fridays and big SBC drops. Pack-flooding events like Black Friday push it the other way.

Should you open packs with coins in FC 27?

Generally no. On average, buying the player you want costs less than chasing them in packs, and gold re-roll style packs are better treated as a gallery or collection grind than a coin method.

How do you unlock the Transfer Market on the web app?

Web and Companion App market access opens after active days, each one being three complete Ultimate Team matches plus a login on the same UTC day. Play your matches early in the cycle so the app is ready for promo weekends.

Do Evolutions change player prices in FC 27?

Yes. FC 27 releases fewer Evolutions with tighter requirements, so the small pool of eligible cards can spike within minutes of one going live. The spike usually fades within a day or two.

So: climb Rivals for the weekly reward and the bigger post-match coins, sell your tradeable packs, buy fodder before promo Fridays, and respect the 5% tax on every flip. That is how to make coins in FC 27 without burning your evenings on the transfer market. And if you would rather skip the grind and go straight to the squad you want, you can buy FC 27 coins from our team and spend this promo on the pitch instead.
