Amber and Wendy lead the current Legendary ranked snapshot, with Shade, Gus, Emz, Ash, Sprout and Brock rounding out the tracker’s top tier. That is a narrower answer than “best Brawler everywhere”: the table below uses only Legendary ranked matches, while the mode shortlists account for how each objective changes a pick’s job. Every tier comes from the same dated tracker snapshot, and the mode notes explain when to move away from the overall order.
This refresh uses the latest public balance note and current match data. It replaces the September table, whose trial picks, new Brawler coverage and mode advice no longer fit the live snapshot. The numbers are estimates from recorded games, so treat them as a starting point for your next draft.
Patch and data snapshot
Supercell’s August 2026 release notes include the September 16 maintenance balance changes. The official news archive currently lists no later balance note. Among the adjustments, Amber, Shade, Gus, Wendy, El Primo and Nori all received changes. The table here reflects the game after those notes and a newer seven-day sample, rather than assuming a nerf automatically removes a Brawler from the top.
The ranked table comes from BrawlMetrics’ Legendary tier view, updated October 20, 2026. It analyzes 1,498,895 recorded matches from the last seven days at Legendary rank. Its displayed win rate is a Wilson-adjusted lower bound, and its letter tiers also factor in use rate. A 59% figure here is therefore the tracker’s adjusted rate, not a promise about what one player will win. The tracker assigns a tier only after a Brawler reaches its sample threshold. Vince does not appear in this Legendary table, so this guide leaves him unranked rather than guessing.
Ranked numbers and mode numbers answer different questions. For the mode shortlists, I checked the tracker’s mode-specific views. Those pages can be switched between Overall, Ranked and Showdown; the mode examples below use Overall unless stated. They include a broader mix than the Legendary ranked slice, so use them to spot a mode fit, then check the map and your draft before choosing.
Brawl Stars tier list for Legendary ranked
BrawlMetrics labels the top two picks S+ and the next group S. This list combines those labels into S to keep the article’s S-to-D scale simple. The table gives each S pick’s adjusted win rate, match count and use rate from the same Legendary slice.
| Tier | Brawler | Adjusted win rate | Matches | Use rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S | Amber | 59.0% | 48,298 | 3.22% |
| S | Wendy | 58.0% | 59,627 | 3.98% |
| S | Shade | 57.3% | 36,825 | 2.46% |
| S | Gus | 53.2% | 89,355 | 5.96% |
| S | Emz | 55.8% | 36,055 | 2.41% |
| S | Ash | 56.2% | 24,029 | 1.60% |
| S | Sprout | 56.6% | 12,336 | 0.82% |
| S | Brock | 53.1% | 64,618 | 4.31% |
A tier: Rico, Colette, Spike, Nori, Sirius, Bea, Colt, Max, Melodie, Mortis, Willow, 8-Bit, Larry & Lawrie, Mina, Bibi and Stu.
B tier: Najia, Edgar, Maisie, Pierce, Tara, Gray, Pearl, Juju, Piper, El Primo, Nita, Belle, Kaze, Surge, Bull, Barley, Doug, Finx, Angelo, Kenji, Griff, Starr Nova, Ollie, Glowy, Bo, Moe, Draco and Shelly.
C tier: Eve, Bolt, Byron, Janet, Pam, Gene, Carl, Penny, Cordelius, Buzz, R-T, Sandy, Mandy, Leon, Poco, Charlie, Nani, Meeple, Lou, Alli, Chuck, Rosa, Darryl, Chester, Lumi, Trunk, Meg, Damian, Buster, Fang, Lily, Gigi and Ziggy.
D tier: Lola, Jae-Yong, Otis, Tick, Crow, Dynamike, Grom, Hank, Cosmo, Squeak, Mico, Clancy, Ruffs, Frank, Berry, Mr. P, Bonnie, Gale, Kit, Jessie, Sam and Jacky.
The biggest use rate in S belongs to Gus at 5.96%, backed by 89,355 matches. That makes him a dependable team pick in this slice even though his adjusted win rate is lower than the other S entries. Amber’s 59.0% leads the table across 48,298 matches. A low-use pick such as Sprout still earns a place here, but his 12,336 matches give you less coverage than Gus or Brock. Look at both the rate and the sample before promoting a specialist to a first pick.
Mode-by-mode starting picks
Choose for the objective first. These are shortlists, not universal answers; the active map can change a Brawler’s value more than the overall tier does.
| Mode | Starting shortlist | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| Gem Grab | Gus, Bo, Amber, Shade | Hold the middle, keep your carrier alive and clear opponents off the gem line. |
| Brawl Ball | Shade, Ash, Wendy, Colette | Contest lanes, create a clear route to goal and punish a team that clumps near the ball. |
| Heist | Nori, Colette, Chuck, Amber | Pair direct objective pressure with a lane holder who can stop the other team’s push. |
| Hot Zone | Amber, Trunk, Gus, Shade | Stay on the objective while forcing opponents to spend time clearing you off it. |
| Knockout | Gus, Pierce, Mandy, Wendy | Favor range, cover and a way to help teammates without taking a needless duel. |
| Bounty | Pierce, Piper, Gus, Wendy | Use long lanes to build pressure, then protect the lead instead of chasing a risky finish. |
Those picks reflect role fit and the tracker’s mode pages, with the sample scope kept visible. For example, the October 20 Hot Zone Overall view contains 662,892 matches; Shade’s row has 21,387 matches at 61.4%, while Trunk’s has 6,346 at 66.6%. The smaller Trunk sample can be a useful clue, but it deserves a map check before you treat that rate as a reliable edge. Mode data can also include players and queues outside Legendary ranked.
If you have a specific Ranked milestone or Brawler trophy target in mind and would rather spend less time grinding, the Brawl Stars service page lists Ranked, Trophy Road and coaching options.
What changed after the September balance note?
The September 16 note changed several familiar picks. Amber’s Fire Starters barrel lost health and her oil and Buffie damage were reduced. Shade’s nearby Super charge and gadget effects were toned down. Wendy’s shields were cut, Gus’s healing was reduced, and El Primo’s gadget and Star Power lost some uptime. Their current Legendary placements show why a patch note alone cannot tell you where a Brawler will land: Amber and Wendy remain S, Shade and Gus remain S, and El Primo sits in B.
Some of the note’s buffs also show up in this snapshot. Willow is A at 54.8% from 5,021 matches, while Juju is B at 54.2% from 4,004. Both samples are smaller than the leading S rows. The tracker’s week-over-week movement has its own story: Mina rose 19 places on 33,085 matches, Colt rose 14 on 35,180, while Nita fell 23 on 3,870 and El Primo fell 14 on 15,664. Those arrows compare recent snapshots. They describe movement in the tracker, not proof that a particular balance change caused it.
How to use the tiers in a real draft
Start with the objective and the map shape. A closed lane can make Sprout or Rico more useful than a higher overall pick; an open lane can reward Brock or Piper’s range. Then check which team needs the first engagement, who can hold space and what your teammates already cover. A three-Brawler team with no way to maintain the objective can lose even when each pick grades well alone. If the draft order itself is new to you, our Brawl Stars ranked guide explains when bans and full drafts kick in.
Use the letter tiers as a shortlist, then narrow it by your upgrades and comfort. A high adjusted rate on a few thousand matches is a prompt to inspect a pick, not an instruction to learn it during your last set. Similarly, a popular pick can have a more ordinary adjusted rate: Gus leads S-tier use in Legendary, while Amber leads adjusted wins. That gives you two different pieces of information about how the current ladder is using them.
Community tier lists also show why a letter is only one view. In a recent discussion of Angelboy’s meta tier list, players question placements such as Nani and Darryl and compare their experience with other lists. The replies are opinions, not match data, but they illustrate the point: skill with a Brawler, the current map and the job your team needs can all change whether a pick works for you.
For another view, compare the current mode page with the Legendary table rather than copying a single overall ranking. A broad mode sample can point you toward a useful specialist; the ranked slice tells you how that pick performed at Legendary. Together, those views give you a better starting pool while leaving room for your own map knowledge.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best Brawler in Brawl Stars right now?
Amber leads the October 20 Legendary ranked snapshot with a 59.0% adjusted win rate across 48,298 matches. Wendy is next at 58.0% across 59,627. The best pick for your match still depends on its mode, map and team composition.
Are S-tier Brawlers the best choice in every mode?
No single overall tier decides every map. Check the objective and map shape first, then use the mode shortlists to identify a suitable role. A lower overall pick can still be a specialist for one map.
What does the adjusted win rate mean?
BrawlMetrics uses a Wilson lower-bound rate to account for sample size, then combines that with use rate to assign tiers. The displayed number is a tracker estimate from recorded matches, not a forecast for an individual account.
Does this table cover Trophy Road matches?
The S-to-D table is filtered to Legendary ranked matches. The separate mode examples use broader Overall pages, so they do not represent the same player group or match pool.
When was the latest balance update?
The latest balance note in Supercell’s public news archive is the September 16 maintenance section in the August 2026 release notes. The tracker snapshot used here was updated October 20, so the post accounts for later match results as well.
