Overwatch League Power Rankings 2021: Western Division Predictions

What is Overwatch League?

OWL is the premier professional esports league for Overwatch, organized by Blizzard Entertainment. The league is considered as the first 'global professional esports league featuring franchised teams representing cities from all around the world. In the series Overwatch League Power Rankings 2021 we will cover both divisions in 2 different articles and the league as a whole in a third article. If you are an Overwatch and Esports fan you will be better informed about who has the best odds to win Overwatch League!

S Tier - San Francisco Shock

San Francisco Shock is the most successful team in Overwatch League history. This team won 2 titles back to back (Overwatch League 2019 & 2020) Needles to say they are the favorites to win it all again. The real challenge here is maintaining the same level as the previous years. San Fransisco Shock Overwatch Boosting performances got famous especially after their second title where they swept their opponents in the grand finals of the Overwatch League 2020. Overwatch coaching is one of their strong's, with the likes of Daehee “Crusty” Park leading the team this year. Only time will tell, we do believe Overwatch rank dominance by the San Francisco Shock in the league might change but we have to wait to see it with our own eyes.

A Tier - Dallas Fuel

Remember back in season 1 when Dallas Fuel were the favorites but then they got a series of bad performances allied with bad Overwatch Coaching? This is a totally different team now. Their DPS star Ki-hyo "Xzi" Jung retirement should not affect Dallas Fuel objectives this season. The korean player is retiring due to back pain but Team Envyus is getting a very needed refreshment in their roster too. With the acquisition of Yun “Rush” Hee-won from Paris Eternal and the reunion of the legendary team members of Element Mystic (A team that boosted great performances in Overwatch Contenders Korea) the team is looking seriously strong now! Dallas has fought itself during too long, they want to change their history this year, and I believe they can do it. This new team can do a historically Overwatch rank boost run.

A Tier - Atlanta Reign

Atlanta Reign is the team representing Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in the Overwatch League. The team was one of the most promising teams in the past but their results were never something out of this world. Why am I ranking them so high in the western division? Atalanta is maintaining the same staff and a lot of it’s old players. Player quality was never their problem but the retirement of their star Andrej “BabyBay” Francisty for Valorant was worrisome for fans. Lucky the young star Kai “Kai” Collins should be more than enough to replace BabyBay. The previous player of Samsung Morning Stars is a star in ascension. When Dallas Fuel promotes change, Ataltanta reign promotes stability of their core players. I think they will surprise Overwatch fans across the world this season.
