The best blind pick ADCs this patch are Zeri, Kog’Maw and Jinx, in that order of safety. On patch 26.20 Emerald+ data, Zeri and Kog’Maw have no bot-lane matchup below 48%, and Jinx has the best raw numbers in the role, although she took a nerf on October 21. Ezreal, the usual “safest ADC” answer, is missing: he sat at 47.60% overall and is a poor first pick right now. Below is the matchup-spread table, the support pairings that make a blind ADC safe, the bot laners you should never show first, and how to handle your draft seat.

For the blind-pick concept and the safe picks in every other lane, see our blind pick guide for every lane. This post is bot lane only, where blind picking works differently because you are never really alone in the lane.

How we measured blind pick safety in bot lane

An ADC can be countered twice, once by the enemy bot laner and once by the enemy support, so we measured both. For every ADC we pulled the Lolalytics Emerald+ counter data for patch 26.20 (the last full patch before 26.21; Lolalytics files it under the 16.20 game version) in two views:

  • Against the enemy bot laner, keeping matchups with 300+ games. We counted how many sit below 48%, and listed the worst three with sample sizes. Lolalytics counts each player’s own rank, which puts its Emerald+ average at 51.71%, so 48% is roughly 4 points under par.
  • Against the enemy support, keeping matchups with 1,000+ games, because the support pool is wide and small samples get noisy fast. You can see how this view works on Jhin’s matchups against enemy supports.

Across the whole role, the worst lanes for almost every ADC come from mage bot laners (Veigar, Vel’Koz, Karthus, Aurelion Sol, Hwei) and engage supports, with Braum at the top, rather than from other ADCs. A blind-safe ADC is one that survives those two threats. All figures are our read of Lolalytics Emerald+ data, last checked October 2026. Riot does not publish matchup win rates.

Best blind pick ADCs: the matchup spread table

Current patch context: data is patch 26.20, Emerald+ ranked solo/duo, last checked October 2026. Patch 26.21 nerfed Jinx’s AD growth and base health, cut Tristana’s level 1 Q attack speed and reshaped Caitlyn’s headshot damage, and left Zeri, Kog’Maw, Xayah, Sivir and Jhin untouched (patch 26.21 notes).

Look at the “worst enemy support” column. For Jinx, the worst support she meets is still a 50.95% lane. That is why she sits in S even with a nerf coming: supports cannot make her lane unplayable. Jhin is the opposite case. His bot laner spread is fine, but Taric, Rell (46.87% over 9,102 games), Braum and Alistar all beat him, and you see those supports constantly.

The picks, one by one

Zeri

Zeri is the safest blind ADC on the data, with no bot matchup under 48% and a worst common support lane of 49.14% against Thresh. Her Q fires from long range, her E vaults over terrain, and she kites in a way that gives hook supports very little to hit. Thresh is the one to respect: a landed hook on Zeri after she uses E is usually her death. Who should not play her: anyone who has not put real games into her. Her kiting has a real learning curve, and a first-time Zeri plays nothing like these numbers.

Kog’Maw

Kog’Maw had the second-best win rate of the ADCs we tracked at 53.95% and not a single bad lane. His W range boost lets him trade into anything, and his late game ends fights other ADCs cannot. His weak point is the support pairing: Braum and Blitzcrank are his worst supports, and without peel he gets dived. Who should not play him: anyone whose support is likely to roam. Kog’Maw blind with a Pyke or Bard is a different, much worse pick.

Jinx

Jinx was the strongest ADC on 26.20 at 54.07%, picked in 17% of Emerald+ games, and her spread is wide and flat. Chompers and Zap give her self-peel, and her reset passive turns one kill into a fight win. The 26.21 nerf (AD growth from 3.25 to 3 per level, base health from 630 to 610) will pull her down, and Riot’s notes call her and Caitlyn dominant in the meta. She stays blind-safe because the nerf hits power, not the matchups. Who should not play her: players who like to fight early. Jinx before two items is a farmer.

Sivir

Sivir is the answer to engage lanes. Her E spell shield blocks the hook, the Nautilus anchor or the Leona zenith blade, and her Q waveclear makes a losing lane recoverable. Her weak spot is the enchanter lane: Sona, Janna, Senna and Lulu all hold her near 48%, because poke does not give her shield anything to block. Who should not play her: anyone who wants to carry 1v5. Sivir’s ult wins fights for her team, not for her.

Xayah

Xayah has no bad support matchup in the data, and her R is the best anti-engage tool in the role: she goes untargetable, the enemy combo whiffs, and her E roots everyone on the way back. Her problem is the mage bot. Vel’Koz at 43.79%, Xerath and Seraphine all outrange her. Those picks are rare, which is why she still ranks A. Who should not play her: anyone who does not track feathers. Half her damage is in where the feathers land.

Tristana

Tristana has two escapes, her W jump and her R knockback, which is why ganks and all-ins rarely kill her. Veigar bot is her real counter at 45.96% over 1,808 games, a sample big enough to take seriously. Patch 26.21 cut her level 1 Q attack speed from 60% to 40%, aimed at the “press Q and auto” lane bully pattern, so her early pressure will drop. Who should not play her: players who never use W as an escape. A Tristana who jumps in at level 3 and burns it is giving away her blind-pick safety.

We see bot lane the same way on orders. Our ADC boosters rarely lose a game to the enemy marksman. They lose it to a Veigar bot they did not see coming, or to a Rell who lands the first engage while their own support is warding. That is why the pool our bot players use on climbs looks like this table, Zeri or Kog’Maw first and Jinx when open, rather than whatever is hottest on the tier list. If you would rather hand that grind over, our League of Legends boost team runs these exact picks every day.

Your support decides how blind your pick really is

In bot lane, the enemy support matters about as much as the enemy ADC, so the safest blind pick is really a pair. If your support locks first, the ADC pick is half-blind at worst. If you lock first, choose an ADC whose bad lanes your likely support can cover. These are our pairing calls, based on the vs-support data above. They are not measured duo win rates. For the full archetype framework, see our full breakdown of ADC and support combos.

ADCs you should never blind pick

These ADCs can be great counter picks, but each has a lane that falls apart when the enemy sees them first. Lock them from the later seats, not as your first pick.

Ezreal deserves an explanation, because “Ezreal is the safe blind ADC” is close to League folklore, and our own pillar says it. The shape still holds: on Lolalytics’ normalised view only one of his matchups is more than 3 points worse than you would expect from both champions’ win rates, which is the flattest profile in the role. The problem is the baseline. At 47.60% overall, a flat spread just means he is a little behind in almost every lane. Yasuo bot at 42.27% over 3,575 games and Braum at 43.71% are the worst of it. Ezreal is safe in shape and weak in power this patch, which still makes him a bad first pick.

Ashe has a different problem. She has no support matchup below 48%, so she is fine into ADC-plus-support lanes, but a mage in the enemy bot lane (Karthus, Katarina, Swain) crushes her. Miss Fortune has the same weakness, though her 26.21 E and R buffs should lift her overall numbers.

Blind pick ADC by draft position

Bot lane is the lane where counter picking matters least, because the 2v2 dilutes any single matchup. Which roles gain most from counter picks gets argued in the r/summonerschool thread on which roles counterpicks matter most for, and our data puts bot lane at the bottom of that list: the worst lanes for the top ADCs mostly sit within about 4 points of even. That is why bot duos often pick early and leave the last picks to top and mid. Ranked solo/duo draft runs B1, then R1-R2, B2-B3, R3-R4, B4-B5, and R5 last.

Your situationWhat to do as ADC
You pick before your support, nothing enemy-side visibleZeri, Kog’Maw or Jinx; tell your support what you locked
Your support picked firstPick from the pairing table; if they took an engage tank, Sivir or Tristana
Enemy bot laner visible, enemy support notCounter the bot laner; mage bots are the main thing to punish
Enemy support visibleAvoid ADCs whose worst support is that pick (Jhin into Rell or Taric, Vayne into Sona)
Both enemy bot picks visibleFull counter, anything from the never-blind table is fair game

Use the pick order swap when it helps. If you and your support are split across two pick rounds, swapping so you pick together, support first, is usually worth more than any individual counter.

Where this list can mislead you

  • The pairing table is our judgement, not a measured number. The vs-support data tells you which enemy supports hurt each ADC. It does not measure how a specific duo performs together.
  • Mage bot samples are small. Ashe at 38.57% against Karthus comes from 350 games. Karthus bot does beat her, but the exact number is noisy, and you will not see Karthus bot in most lobbies.
  • Matchup data blends every support combination. Your Jinx against their Jhin is a different lane depending on whether you have Lulu or Pyke, and one number cannot capture that.
  • Three of these picks just got nerfed. Jinx, Tristana and Caitlyn all lose power on 26.21. Jinx is the most likely to slide down this table within a patch or two.
  • Safe is not strongest. For raw power rankings, our ADC tier list is the better reference. Blind-safe picks give up some ceiling for their floor.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best blind pick ADC right now?

Zeri and Kog’Maw have the cleanest spreads on 26.20 Emerald+ data, with no bot-lane matchup below 48%. Jinx had the best overall win rate but was nerfed in 26.21, so she is strong but shrinking.

Is Ezreal still a safe blind pick?

His matchup shape is still flat, and no single lane hard-counters him, but he sat at 47.60% overall at Emerald+ on 26.20, so 30 of his 45 matchups fall below 48%. He is safe in shape and weak in power right now.

What counters ADCs most in bot lane?

Mage bot laners and engage supports. Veigar, Vel’Koz, Karthus and Aurelion Sol produce the worst ADC matchups in the data, and Braum is the support that drags down the most ADCs.

Should ADC or support pick first?

If you can choose, let the support pick first, because a safe support narrows what the enemy can counter, then pick the ADC that fits. If the ADC has to go first, Zeri, Kog’Maw or Jinx are the safest locks.

What is the safest ADC and support duo to blind pick?

Jinx or Kog’Maw with Lulu. Neither ADC has a bad lane against any support in the data, and Lulu covers the immobility that is their only real weakness.

Lock Zeri, Kog’Maw or Jinx when you are shown first, pair them with a peel support, and keep Ezreal, Draven and Caitlyn for the seats where you can see what is coming.

If you would rather spend your evenings playing than drafting, our division climb or duo queue boost puts an Emerald, Diamond or Master bot laner on your account, playing these same safe picks.
