The best blind pick junglers in LoL right now are Wukong, Warwick and Lillia, with Kayn, Cho’Gath and Amumu right behind them. All six have zero jungle matchups under a 48% win rate across 500+ game samples in Lolalytics’ Emerald+ data for patch 26.20, and the first three also sit above 53% overall. That is what blind-safe means in the jungle: no enemy jungler who can bully you off your own camps, a win rate that barely moves whoever you face, and a kit that fits whatever your four teammates end up picking. Below is the matchup-spread table, what “counter” actually means for a jungler, the six picks one by one, the junglers you should never lock first, and where jungle blind picks happen in draft.

This is the jungle-only deep dive. For one safe pick per lane on a single page, start with our best blind pick champions for every lane. Here we stay in the jungle and go a lot further into the numbers.

What “counter” means for a jungler

Junglers do not get countered in a lane, they get countered on the map, and that happens in four ways. Lane players lose to a champion standing in front of them for 14 minutes. A jungler only meets the enemy jungler at scuttle, on an invade or in a skirmish, so the damage is spread across the whole game:

  • Invade and early duel. Some junglers win a level 2-4 fight on your camps so hard that they can take your buff and walk out. Warwick, Rek’Sai, Xin Zhao and Elise all threaten this. If you blind a weak early duelist, you hand them a free plan.
  • Clear speed. A fast clearer reaches level 6 and the first objectives ahead of you. Lillia is the clearest example: her passive burn and movement speed let her full clear and arrive first to every contest.
  • Gank and skirmish timing. A jungler with a strong level 3 gank punishes a farming jungler before they ever reach their power spike.
  • Team-comp fit, the biggest one in solo queue. A jungler who is the only frontline, or the only engage, or the only magic damage, can make the whole draft work or fail on their own. A blind jungler has to fit a team that is not picked yet.

So when the data says Sejuani wins only 45.83% into Lillia, that is mostly the clear-speed and kiting problem, not a “lane” in any normal sense. Tracking where the enemy starts is half of beating these matchups; the r/summonerschool thread on warding the enemy raptor camp covers the low-effort version of that.

How we measured it, and the patch context

We pulled jungle-versus-jungle matchups for 47 junglers from Lolalytics’ Emerald+ jungle tier list for patch 26.20, the last full patch of data (last checked October 2026). For each one we counted matchups with at least 500 games below a 48% win rate, the worst three matchups, and the spread. Lolalytics rates each player at their own tier, which puts the Emerald+ average win rate at 51.71%, so a 48% matchup is almost 4 points under par. Riot does not publish matchup data; every figure here is our read of Lolalytics.

Patch 26.21 went live on October 21 and 26.22 is scheduled for November 4. The official patch 26.21 notes touch several junglers: Lee Sin, Rammus and Nidalee are nerfed, Xin Zhao, Nunu & Willump and Taliyah are buffed, and Wukong gets more base health regen but less Stone Skin armor at lower levels. Warwick, Lillia, Kayn, Cho’Gath, Amumu, Sejuani, Viego and Vi are untouched.

Skill Capped on jungle routing, the clear-speed side of every jungle matchup.

Best blind pick junglers: the matchup-spread table

17 of the 47 junglers we checked have zero matchups under 48%, and the eight below combine that floor with a strong overall win rate and a meaningful sample. Lolalytics Emerald+, patch 26.20, jungle versus jungle, 500+ game matchups only, last checked October 2026.

The six best blind pick junglers, one by one

Wukong: the all-round blind

Wukong has the highest overall win rate of any jungler above a 5% pick rate (53.97%) and his worst matchup is a near coin flip, Lillia at 49.40%. He covers three of the four counter axes: he wins most early duels, his clone and E give him a fast-enough clear, and R is a reliable two-target engage. He also builds whatever the team needs, from bruiser to near-tank. The 26.21 change shaves Stone Skin armor at low levels, which slightly weakens his level 2-4 duels. Watch his win rate for a week before assuming he is still the top of this list. Who should not play him: players who need a clean scuttle fight to feel useful, since Lillia simply refuses to give him one.

Warwick: the duelist nobody can invade

Warwick’s worst matchup is Rek’Sai at 49.72% on a small 527-game sample; his next worst are already above 50%. He is the answer to the invade problem: his passive sustain and Q heal mean nobody wins a level 3 fight on his camps, and Blood Hunt shows him exactly which lane to gank. He fits comps that need a point-and-click lockdown (R suppresses), but he is not a frontline, so he is a worse blind if your team tends to draft five squishies.

Lillia: the clear-speed blind

Lillia’s worst matchups are Quinn (49.35%, an off-role pick), Ivern and Kindred, and no common meta jungler beats her by more than a fraction of a point. She counters tanks in particular: Sejuani 45.83%, Zac 46.52%, Rammus 47.86% and Cho’Gath 48.35% all from their side. Her clear speed and movement mean she contests every objective first, and her damage is magic, which fills the gap in a lot of AD-heavy solo queue teams. The cost is mechanical: she needs to kite, and a Lillia who walks into fights stops being safe very fast.

If you would rather skip the jungle pressure altogether, our League of Legends rank boost team handles division climbs and duo queue from Emerald up, on your schedule.

Kayn: the delayed counter-pick

Kayn is the one champion in the game who gets to counter-pick after champion select. Once he has hit enemy champions enough to fill his orb, he chooses Rhaast (the frontline drain form, strong into melee-heavy teams) or Shadow Assassin (the burst form, strong into squishy and ranged teams). That choice is why he has no sub-48 matchup at 51.90% overall. His worst is Wukong at 48.34% over 9,447 games. The downside is his early game: before the form, he is a weak duelist, so a Warwick or Xin Zhao invade hurts him more than the matchup numbers suggest.

Cho’Gath: the frontline that fits any draft

Cho’Gath jungle is now played more than Cho’Gath top in Emerald+ (60.41% of his games are in the jungle) and his worst matchup is Lillia at 48.35%. He is a blind pick for team-comp reasons: tank stats, a knock-up, a silence and a true-damage R that executes. He gives a team frontline and objective control without needing a lead. Who should not play him: anyone who wants to gank before level 6, because his early pressure is thin.

Amumu: the simplest safe blind

Amumu has a 52.84% win rate and his worst matchups are assassins (Sylas 48.49%, Talon 48.50%, Zed 48.71%). He loses some early duels, but his game is not about early duels: two Bandage Tosses and a five-man R is the most reliable teamfight engage in the jungle. His 1.94% pick rate means few enemies plan around him either.

The pillar picks under the microscope: Viego, Vi and Sejuani

Our cross-lane pillar recommends Viego, Vi and Sejuani as the jungle blinds. The 26.20 numbers back Sejuani and are lukewarm on the other two.

JunglerOverall WRMatchups under 48%Worst matchups (WR)Verdict
Sejuani53.55%1Lillia 45.83, Zac 49.01Blind-safe unless Lillia is open; ban or hold if you fear her
Viego51.02%4Rammus 46.11, Elise 46.58, Rek’Sai 46.97Playable blind; early duelists and Rammus punish him
Vi50.51%4Wukong 47.50, Fiddlesticks 47.51, Zyra 47.85Below the bracket average; point-and-click R still makes her a fine pick, not the safest

Viego’s Rammus problem may ease on 26.21, since Rammus loses some W armor and his armor scaling cap drops from 60% to 50%. Re-check that matchup after a week of games.

Never blind these junglers

Several junglers with good overall win rates are really counter-picks. They win a lot when they get the matchup they want and lose badly when they do not.

JunglerOverall WRMatchups under 48%Worst matchups (WR)Why not blind
Naafiri51.05%8Rammus 44.54, Diana 44.84, Lillia 46.04Widest spread we measured; 21.5% of her games are in sub-48 matchups
Hecarim50.80%8Ivern 46.33, Gwen 47.27Needs a lead and a comp that lets him run in; loses to sustained fighters
Graves51.12%7Ivern 45.72, Skarner 46.72, Zyra 46.96Strong invader, but tanks and plant junglers deny his whole plan
Sylas50.95%7Ivern 45.71, Aatrox 46.17, Taliyah 47.21His value depends on enemy ults; a weak-ult enemy comp blanks him
Qiyana50.28%6Rammus 44.86, Sejuani 45.90, Skarner 46.18Tank junglers survive her burst and lock her down
Kha’Zix51.04%4Wukong 46.97, Sejuani 47.77, Cho’Gath 47.89Wukong alone is 7,379 games at 46.97%; tanky teams starve isolation damage
Master Yi52.61%2Elise 46.37, Rammus 46.51Good overall, but hard CC and Rammus’s taunt turn off his whole game

Master Yi is the interesting one. His overall win rate is high, which is why low-elo lists call him safe, but two common matchups take him to 46%. He is a strong pick when nobody on the enemy team has point-and-click CC, and that is exactly the information you do not have when you pick first.

Where jungle blind picks happen in draft

When a jungler picks blind, team-comp fit decides the pick more than the enemy jungler does. Pick order comes from your lobby slot, not your role, so you are blind whenever your slot comes before the enemy jungler’s. Our jungle tier list is the place to check the options once you can see the enemy; this is the blind-pick version.

  • First pick with nothing shown: Wukong or Kayn. Wukong fits any comp, and Kayn’s form choice gives you a second look after the draft is done.
  • Your team already has two or more squishy damage picks: Cho’Gath, Sejuani or Amumu, because you will be the frontline.
  • Your team is mostly AD: Lillia or Amumu for magic damage.
  • The enemy jungler is shown: you are not blind any more. If you see a tank jungler, Lillia; if you see Viego, Master Yi or Kindred, Rammus is still the answer on paper (they sit at 46.11%, 46.51% and 45.78% into him), though his 26.21 nerf may narrow those gaps.

From the jungle climbs we run, the most common avoidable loss is not a bad matchup. It is a fifth damage pick with no engage. A Wukong blind with a support who can follow up wins more games than a mechanically perfect Kha’Zix on a team that cannot start a fight.

What this data gets wrong

Jungle-versus-jungle win rates are the weakest matchup data in the game. A jungle matchup is a full-game number, so it mixes the jungle duel with everything the other nine players did. Off-role picks such as Quinn, Gwen, Zed and Talon show up as “jungle matchups” with small samples. The data is from patch 26.20, so the 26.21 changes to Wukong, Rammus, Lee Sin, Xin Zhao and Nunu & Willump are not in it yet. And an Emerald+ average hides skill floors: Lillia’s and Kayn’s numbers come from players who already know how to kite or which form to take. A safe blind is still only safe on a champion you have practiced.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best blind pick jungler in LoL?

Wukong on the current patch: 53.97% overall and a worst matchup of 49.40% into Lillia in Lolalytics Emerald+ data (patch 26.20, checked October 2026). Warwick and Lillia are equally safe alternatives.

Do junglers have counters?

Yes, but on the map rather than in a lane. A jungler is countered by a better early duelist who invades, a faster clearer who wins objectives, or a team comp that blanks their damage type. Sejuani into Lillia at 45.83% is the clearest current example.

Is Viego a good blind pick jungler?

He is playable, but not the safest. Viego has four matchups under 48%, led by Rammus at 46.11% and Elise at 46.58%. Wukong, Warwick and Lillia have none.

What is the safest jungler for beginners to blind pick?

Amumu or Warwick. Both have no matchup under 48%, simple kits, and win conditions that do not depend on outplaying the enemy jungler.

Should a jungler first pick?

Only with a flexible champion. If you are first pick, take Wukong or Kayn; if you can trade pick order with a laner, wait until you see the enemy jungler.

Why is Master Yi not a good blind pick?

Because two common matchups, Elise at 46.37% and Rammus at 46.51%, take him far below his 52.61% average. He wins big when the enemy has no hard CC, and you cannot know that when you pick first.

Blind Wukong, Warwick or Lillia when you know nothing, take Cho’Gath, Sejuani or Amumu when your team needs a frontline, and save Naafiri, Graves, Hecarim and Master Yi for when the enemy jungler is already on screen. Re-check Wukong and Rammus after a week of 26.21 games.
