The best support in League right now is Thresh. On patch 26.19 he wins 52.13% of his Emerald+ games on a 14.86% pick rate, and he climbs to 52.29% in Diamond+. Behind him, melee supports own the top of this LoL support tier list: Leona, Blitzcrank and Braum all sit above 51.8%. Janna is the best enchanter and the fastest riser of the patch. Nautilus, Pyke and Yuumi are much more popular than they are good. Below you get every support ranked S to D with its class, the numbers behind each call, the best pick by rank bracket, and who rose or fell since 26.18.

This is the patch list, and it changes every two weeks. For picks that hold up across patches, our evergreen list of the best supports to climb with is the companion piece.

Patch 26.19 context: what changed for supports

Patch 26.19 didn’t touch a single support champion. The change that matters is the support item. Per Riot’s patch 26.19 notes, World Atlas and Runic Compass lose their early health (30/100/200 down to 0/60/200) and gain health regen in return (25/50/75% up to 50/75/75%). Less health on the first item hurts a squishy enchanter who gets poked, and more regen favors a melee support who walks up, trades and heals it back. Riot also moved Lucian’s passive power into his Q, explicitly to cut his reliance on Nami and Milio, which nudges those two down a little in duo queue.

The patch before, 26.18, did the heavier support work: Seraphine’s E cooldown was flattened to 11 seconds, Nautilus lost base AD (61 down to 58) and Dredge Line damage, and Bard lost base armor. All three still show in this patch’s numbers. The r/leagueoflegends 26.19 preview thread, where Riot framed this as the first of two Worlds patches, is worth a skim for how the community read it.

How we rank: placements start from op.gg Ranked Solo/Duo data, all servers, Emerald+ (our read of op.gg data, last checked September 2026, about six days into patch 26.19; Riot does not publish official per-champion splits). We cross-check against Lolalytics, then weigh sample size, pick-rate distortion and how the pick plays in solo queue. Supports are compared within class, because asking whether Janna beats Leona is like asking whether a shield beats a sword. Classes are our grouping: enchanter, engage, warden and mage.

Engage supports are winning this patch, enchanters are a close and crowded second, and mage supports are mostly a low-elo thing. Numbers are Emerald+, patch 26.19, from op.gg’s support rankings, last checked September 2026.

Where we deviate: Taric would be S on raw win rate and we hold him at A for sample size (1.23% pick rate, played almost only by Taric mains). Lulu is the opposite case. A 13.62% pick rate plus a 13.31% ban rate means half the ladder is playing her, and the average comes down with them, so she stays A despite a win rate barely over 50%. Lolalytics puts her at S on the same bracket, which tells you how much method matters. We also hold Nautilus in B despite a 15% ban rate. Players ban him because he’s miserable to lane against, and the win rate says he isn’t winning many games.

Best support in each class

Most support players pick a class and stay in it, so here’s the best option inside each one, from the same data.

S-tier supports: why they’re on top

Thresh

Thresh is the best support on patch 26.19. He’s the most-picked support in the game at 14.86%, and on that volume he still wins 52.13% at Emerald+ and 52.29% in Diamond+. Champions this popular usually lose win rate as the rank goes up, and Thresh gains it. His lantern also gets your jungler into lane, which matters more in solo queue than any hook.

  • Counters: Morgana’s Black Shield, and poke lanes (Lux, Vel’Koz with a Caitlyn) that keep him too low to go in.
  • Who should not play him: anyone who throws Death Sentence the moment it comes off cooldown. A missed hook leaves him with very little else to do for 20 seconds.

Braum

Braum has the highest win rate of any support with real volume, 52.28% at Emerald+ on 5.41% pick. He’s at his best in Platinum and Emerald (52.70% and 52.65%). Unbreakable blocks the poke and skillshots that ranged supports rely on, and Stand Behind Me saves an ADC who walked too far.

  • Counters: enchanters who out-sustain his short trades, and mages who poke from outside his passive range.
  • Who should not play him: players who want to make plays. Braum reacts to the enemy’s engage, and if you go looking for fights you’re wasting his kit.

Leona

Leona is the best support below Diamond. She’s op.gg’s top-ranked support in Silver (52.14%) and Gold (52.72%) and still wins 51.88% at Emerald+. She has a level 2 all-in, a lockdown chain in Zenith Blade into Shield of Daybreak, and enough resistances to survive the retaliation. The new World Atlas regen lets her walk up, take damage and heal it back before the next trade.

  • Counters: disengage enchanters (Janna, Milio) and ADCs with a clean escape.
  • Who should not play her: anyone paired with a passive ADC. If your Ezreal won’t follow a level 2 engage, Leona has nothing else to offer.

Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is up half a point since 26.18 (51.30% to 51.82%) and is the second best support in Diamond+ at 52.15%. One hook on the enemy ADC at level 3 decides the lane, and in solo queue nobody reliably walks behind their minions.

  • Counters: Morgana, Sivir’s spell shield, and a lane partner who stands behind the wave.
  • Who should not play him: tilt-prone players. A lane where you miss three hooks in a row is a very long lane.

Janna

Janna is the best enchanter and the biggest riser of the patch. Her Emerald+ pick rate went from 4.71% to 8.22% in one patch and her win rate barely moved (51.50% to 51.28%). In Diamond+ she’s picked in almost 10% of games. Nami and Milio lost some duo value with the Lucian change, and Janna’s disengage answers the engage supports that are winning this patch.

  • Counters: hard poke lanes that out-range her, and Blitzcrank or Thresh when she burns Howling Gale early.
  • Who should not play her: anyone who wants kills. Janna wins by denying the enemy’s engage, and your KDA will show it.

If you’d rather not spend 50 games learning when to hold Howling Gale, our LoL division boost team plays support at Diamond and above daily and can take the account up while you practice the timing in normals.

Best support by rank bracket

The Emerald+ table is the house default, but the best support in Silver isn’t the best support in Diamond. Here’s what op.gg’s patch 26.19 data says per bracket (Silver and Gold pages used for Iron-Gold, last checked September 2026).

BracketBest pickStrong alternativesOverrated hereWhy the bracket changes the answer
Iron-GoldLeona (52.14% Silver, 52.72% Gold)Taric 53.83% Silver, Janna 52.50% Gold, Nami 52.30% Gold, Sona 52.52% SilverLux: 17.00% pick in Silver for 50.79%Nobody dodges an engage, and lanes are decided by who goes in first
Plat-EmeraldBraum (52.70% Plat, 52.65% Emerald)Leona 52.36% Plat, Zilean 52.38% Emerald, Thresh 52.01% EmeraldMorgana: 24.64% ban in Plat for 50.75%Poke lanes appear, and blocking it becomes worth more than making plays
Diamond+Thresh (52.29%)Blitzcrank 52.15%, Rell 51.91%, Braum 51.84%, Rakan 51.46%Milio 48.90%, Lux 48.56%, Yuumi 46.21%Coordinated engage wins. Enchanters without disengage fall off

A story from our queue that sums the table up. We had a Platinum duo client whose main was Soraka, 48% on the season. He switched to Braum for a week of duo games with our ADC and went 14-6. Soraka is a fine champion. Braum just fit the Platinum lobbies he was in, and as you climb that fit keeps changing.

Best ADC pairings for the top supports

The ADC side has its own tier list, and our best ADC and support combos go deep on duo synergy. For this patch, in brief:

  • Thresh, Blitzcrank, Leona: Jinx, the top ADC on 26.19. Engage gives her the first kill that triggers her passive.
  • Braum: hypercarries who need protecting late, like Jinx, Kog’Maw or Yunara.
  • Janna: Yunara and Xayah, whose extended trades go further with her shield and speed.
  • Nami and Milio: still fine with Lucian, just less of an auto-win since Riot cut his reliance on them.

Rising and falling vs patch 26.18

Here’s what moved between 26.18 and 26.19, using op.gg Emerald+ data for both patches pulled the same day (last checked September 2026).

Senna51.36%50.76%FallingSquishy ranged support losing early item health
Milio50.50%50.04%FallingItem change plus the Lucian adjustment
Seraphine7.68% pick, 8.75% ban6.87% pick, 6.76% banFalling (popularity)Players still leaving after the 26.18 E nerf
Rell52.06%51.68%Slightly fallingMelee but down anyway, which is why we hedge the item story

Melee engage went up and fragile ranged supports went down, which is what you’d expect from a starting item that swapped health for regen. The moves are all under a point, though, and Rell going the wrong way is a reminder that six days of data is noisy.

Where this tier list is wrong

First, support win rate is the least reliable number in the game. A support’s result depends more on their ADC than any other role depends on a teammate. A 52% Braum is partly a 52% Braum-with-a-Jinx. No tier list can split that out, ours included.

Second, the data is early and the method changes the answer. Six days into 26.19, one-point moves can be noise. Lolalytics scores each game by every player’s own rank and lands 1.5-2 points higher than op.gg across the board, which is how Lulu is S there and A here from the same games. Compare tiers across sites, not raw percentages.

Third, how you play matters more than what you pick. A good Karma player beats a mediocre Thresh most of the time, whatever the table says. Knowing how to carry games as support (wards, roam timings, when to leave lane) is worth more LP than any tier list, this one included.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best support in LoL right now?

Thresh. On patch 26.19 he wins 52.13% at Emerald+ on a 14.86% pick rate, per op.gg, and improves to 52.29% in Diamond+. Braum, Leona, Blitzcrank and Janna complete our S tier.

What is the best enchanter support this patch?

Janna. She wins 51.28% at Emerald+, her pick rate nearly doubled since 26.18, and she holds 51.20% in Diamond+. Nami and Soraka are the next best, and Zilean has great numbers on a small sample.

What is the best support for low elo?

Leona. She’s op.gg’s top-ranked support in both Silver (52.14%) and Gold (52.72%). Taric has an even higher win rate in those brackets, but so few people play him that the number is mostly Taric mains.

Is Yuumi good right now?

No. She sits at 47.61% at Emerald+ and 46.21% in Diamond+, the lowest of any popular support on patch 26.19.

Why is Nautilus ranked so low if he’s banned so often?

Because players ban what’s miserable to face, not only what wins. Nautilus is banned in 15.09% of Emerald+ games but wins 49.42% after the 26.18 nerfs to his base AD and Dredge Line.

Did the World Atlas change hurt enchanters?

A little. The starting item lost early health (30/100/200 down to 0/60/200) and gained regen. Melee engage supports ticked up and Senna and Milio dipped, but every move is under a point so far.

For the current patch: Thresh, Braum, Leona, Blitzcrank and Janna are the supports to climb with, Zilean and Rell are the strong under-picked options, and Nautilus, Pyke and Yuumi are more popular than they are good. Stay inside a class you know and pick its best option for your bracket. And if you’d rather the climb happened while you work on the role, you can book a LoL boost or duo queue climb to Emerald, Diamond or Master with our team.
